The Founders Luncheon
Live Oak Theater Demo
JYY Family Workout!
Held Sunday June 25th, 2006
in San Antonio, TX at Grady's BBQ
Sensei Zang invited the Founders of JYY to meet in San Antonio, TX for lunch and a chance to visit and rekindle old friendships. This luncheon was planned with very short notification. Jack and Trudi Gridley were in town from Florida for a friends wedding, and were gracious enough to want to get together and meet. Duke Ali Shariff-Bey was also in town from Prairie View, TX for training and was able to attend. Both Andrew Harrison and Fernando Franco both reside in the San Antonio area and were able to attend as well. Jeff Nieland was unable to attend due to earlier obligations. We had a great time visiting and sharing stories of the early days of Jai Yen Yen. We enjoyed good food and great company. It was stated by several of the Founders that martial arts was always about good friends sharing in great times and building stronger friendships; they were pleased to see that this lesson has never been lost in Jai Yen Yen.

JYY Demo at Live Oak Cinema for the Opening of "X-Men 3" and the Upcoming film "Superman"!
Saturday May 27th, 2006
We were asked to help support our local cinema for the opening of X-Men 3 and Superman. We had a great time performing two demo's during the heat of the day here in the San Antonio area! The Demo team was led and announced by Michael Zang, supported by Andrew Harrison, the Demo Team consisted of John Almendarez, Joemer Dulatre, David Aguilar, Ken Dill, Melissa Pascual, and Candice Carmichael. The Demo consisted of various self=defense escapes and then breaking demonstrations using wood and cinder blocks. After the Demo the group did their best to put a dent in the buffet line at a local Chinese Resteraunt! Everyone had a great time and the Theater treated us to a free showing of X-Men 3!

WOW! what a great time! The weather was challenging in the low 30's and windy! We spent about 45 minutes in the park training and watching David's Demo, then we moved to Sensei Zang's Garage and continued the workout till Noon. From there we all retired to Cici's Pizza Parlor and enjoyed a well deserved lunch. During the workout David Aguilar recieved his Black belt Certificate! Joshua Zang, the Dallas area class, participated with his students Robert, James and Tim. James received his Green Belt and Tim received his 2nd chevron on his White belt!
